Cricut Machines
You are adding the finishing touches to your book and decide to add some little clip art pictures. You start on your mission to find the pictures. You find exactly what you are looking for and start to print it. Only then do you realize that you have gathered some 5 pages of little pictures that you have to painstakingly cut out by hand. Then, a superhero appears outside your window and proclaims “Never fear! Cricut is here!”.
A Cricut Machine is a small compact machine that cuts your letters, shapes, and designs very quickly. It comes in a variety of sizes and can cut through a multitude of materials. Anything from paper or vinyl to thin plastics. It also does not require a computer to function. The machine comes with a cutting mat and some font and shape cartridges. You can also buy extra cartridges for special designs. These come with themes like super heroes, seasons, baby, etc.
Cricut has also created the Cricut Craft Room. This is a digital design tool that let’s you experiment before you send your designs to cut. The software is free and can be downloaded for both Windows and Mac. Note: this program is still in the test stages and may change slightly in the future.
