Mini Albums – Great for Summer Memories
Summer’s over and another school year is about to start. Mini albums are great for capturing memories with summer friends. And if your child has an extra special camp counsellor they want to thank, why not make them a mini-scrapbook? A bit more than a thank you card and more meaningful than a gift card. It’ll keep them well-occupied for a few evenings, or rainy summer afternoon, when they’re tempted to park themselves in front of the computer or TV.
For ideas, check out the Cricut Summer album.
For home made mini albums, when I say mini, go really mini – 2 inches square.
- That’s enough space for a picture on one page and some notes on the facing page.
- Each page can use different scraps of coloured paper, different themes.
- Group by month, week or major event
Although you can buy mini-scrapbooks and fill them up, it may be more fun and satisfying to make it completely from scratch.
- Try an accordian-style or folding scrapbook.
- Add your own tiny pockets, tags and other embellishments.
- Mix-it up – use different types of paper.
- Laminate some of the pages.
- Use rings, or stitch the whole book together, rather than getting it bound
Hours of fun!
